Geschafft!!! Unser Nationalteam hat sich mit einem 3:2 über die Türkei den Einzug ins Finale der EURO 2008 gesichert. Okay, über den Spielverlauf breiten wir mal lieber den Mantel des Schweigens, aber hey, da fragt in ein paar Tagen ohnehin keiner mehr nach! Allerdings muss ich gestehen, dass solche Spiele für meine Gesundheit vermutlich nicht allzu förderlich sind... Egal, nun erlebe ich also tatsächlich am kommenden Sonntag live im Stadion in Wien das EM-Endspiel mit deutscher Beteiligung! Besser Hätte es kaum laufen können. Heute Abend steig bei uns jedoch erst noch das zweite Halbfinale zwischen Russland und Spanien. Ich muss ja gestehen, dass ich schon lieber die Spanier hätte. Die Russen würden mir dagegen mit ihrer Spielweise eher Sorgen bereiten.

Ein Highlight des Abends war natürlich der weltweite Ausfall des Fernsehsignals. Dazu eine kurze Info: Alles was weltweit auf den Fernsehern erscheint wird von einer Tochter der UEFA, nämlich der UMET (UEFA Media Technologies), produziert. Dies geschieht für alle Spiele der EURO 2008 im IBC (International Broadcast Centre) in Wien. Da jedoch gestern Abend über Wien diverse unwetterartige Gewitter tobten, kam es offensichtlich zu einem Stromausfall im IBC. Da auch die unabhängige Stromversorgung, die in einem solchen Fall eigentlich für den Weiterbetrieb sorgen soll, nicht planmäßig angesprungen ist, war zappenduster auf den Fernsehschirmen dieser Welt. Daher noch einmal ein Dankeschön an die Kollegen vom Schweizer Fernsehen, die todesmutig am IBC vorbei aus ihrem eigenen Ü-Wagen gesendet haben und so dem ZDF ein Bild zur Verfügung stellen konnten.

Die UEFA wird über den Zwischenfall gar nicht erfreut gewesen sein. Darf sie jetzt doch für jede ausgefallene Minute an jeden übertragenden Sender eine nicht unerhebliche Schadenersatzsumme zahlen... Da dürfte wohl der eine oder andere Kopf noch rollen. Jedenfalls herrschte heute auch in Wien schon den ganzen Tag über spürbare Hektik bei sämtlichen schwarz gekleideten UMET Offiziellen...
