Apple veröffentlicht neue Betas von iOS/iPadOS 16.1, tvOS 16.1, watchOS 9.1 und macOS Ventura

Wohl Mitte Oktober dürfen wir mit den ersten größeren Updates für iOS 16 und Co. rechnen. Die Betaphase ist bereits kurz nach der Freigabe der initialen Versionen der aktuellen Betriebssysteme angelaufen und wird von Apple heute Abend in die nächste Runde geschickt. So stehen seit heute Abend die jeweils zweiten Betas von iOS 16.1, tvOS 16.1 und watchOS 9.1, sowie die achte Beta von macOS Ventura und die dritte Beta von iPadOS 16.1 für registrierte Entwickler zum Download bereit. In Kürze dürften dann auch die Teilnehmer am Public Beta Programm mit ins Boot geholt werden, um beim Identifizieren und Melden von Problemen zu helfen. Die finalen Versionen der Updates dürften dann anlässlich des erwarteten Oktober-Events, auf dem Apple neue Macs und iPads präsentieren wird, erwartet werden.

Bereits aus der ersten Beta von iOS 16.1 ist bekannt, dass das Update die Unterstützung von Live Activities auf dem neuen Sperrbildschirm von iOS 16, das Clean Energy Charging in den USA und Unterstützung des neuen Smart-Home-Standards Matter mitbringen wird. Zudem wird sich unter iOS 16.1 auch erstmals die Wallet-App vom iPhone entfernen lassen.

Auch in der heutigen neuen Beta wurden bereits Neuerungen entdeckt. So passt Apple abermals die prozentuale Anzeige des Akkuladestandes in der Statusleiste an, wenn man diese in den Einstellungen aktiviert hat. Wurde bisher entweder die Prozentanzeige vor einem voll gefüllt dargestellten Akku angezeigt oder der Akkuladestand ohne die Anzeige visuell präsentiert, werden beide Varianten in iOS 16.1 gemischt. Bedeutet: Die Prozentanzeige wird vor einer visuellen Darstellung des Akkuladestandes angezeigt. Zudem wird iOS 16.1 die prozentuale Anzeige auch auf die bislang hiervon nicht unterstützten iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 12 mini, ?iPhone? XR und ?iPhone? 11 bringen.

Darüber hinaus bringt iOS 16.1 auch die Ladeanzeige auf dem Sperrbildschirm zurück, die hier seit iOS 16 nicht mehr vorhanden war. Mit dem ersten großen Update für das Betriebssystem wird die Anzeige nun zu Beginn des Ladevorgangs kurz oberhalb der Uhrzeit auf dem Sperrbildschirm eingeblendet (via MacRumors).

Und auch die in den vergangenen Tagen thematisierten Probleme, denen Apple in der kommenden Woche mit einem vorgezogenen Zwischen-Update begegnen wird, werden teilweise bereits in der zweiten Beta von iOS 16.1 angegangen. So fragt das System dort nun nicht mehr bei jedem Zugriff auf die Zwischenablage nach, ob der Nutzer dies gestatten möchte. Stattdessen ist das Verhalten nun wieder so, wie man es aus iOS 15 gewohnt war, sprich es gibt lediglich einen Hinweis, wenn eine App auf die Zwischenablage zugreift, um die darin befindlichen Inhalte heimlich auszulesen. In einem weiteren Beta-Update darf allerdings damit gerechnet werden, dass Apple einen Schalter in den Einstellungen verbauen wird, der den Zugriff auf App-Basis steuern wird. Dies hatte zumindest jüngst ein hochrangiger Apple-Manager angekündigt.
