Irgendwie hat man das Gefühl, als hätte Apples "Project Titan" Team in den vergangenen Monaten vor allem Abgänge zu verkraften. Nun gibt es aber auch mal wieder einen Neuzugang im Team. Wie Bloomberg berichtet, konnte sich Apple die Dienste der langjährigen Ford-Ingenieurin Desi Ujkashevic sichern. Ujkashevic war mehr als 30 Jahre lang für Ford tätig und gilt als Spezialistin für Sicherheitssysteme. Zuletzt bekleidete sie die Rolle als Global Director of Ford's Automotive Safety Engineering Office. Auf der Ford Webseite heißt es:

In her previous role, she was the Engineering Director for North American Vehicle Programs where she was responsible for Engineering for Car and Utility Programs managing engineering design deliverables including achievement of cost, profit, quality, and timing objectives. Prior to this, Desi was the Global Director, Interiors Engineering where she led the Strategy, Program execution, Quality and launch for Interiors on all Global Programs. Previous to this, Desi completed a 3-year international assignment in Germany, serving as Ford's Director of Engineering for Body Systems and Design Operations.

Nachdem Ujkashevic an der Entwicklung der Modelle Escape, Explorer, Fiesta und Focus bei Ford beteiligt war, arbeitete sie auch an Elektroautos mit, so dass sie mit ihrer Erfahrung und Expertise sicherlich einen wertvollen Neuzugang für Apple darstellt. Nach wie vor wird gemunkelt, dass Apple sein eigenes Auto irgendwann zwischen 2025 und 2028 auf den Markt bringen könnte.
