Für Fernsehkinder meiner Generation ist Michael J. Fox nichts anderes als ein Held. Mit Filmen wie "Teen Wolf", "Das Geheimnis meines Erfolgs" oder natürlich der "Zurück in die Zukunft" Trilogie hat er sich in Hollywood unsterblich gemacht. Viele werden wissen, dass Fox bereits vor Jahren an Parkinson erkrankt ist, was seiner Film-Karriere ein abruptes Ende gesetzt hat. Wie Apple nun bekanntgab, hat man sich die Rechte an einem "Nonfiction Feature Film" gesichert, in dem die Karriere aber auch die Parkinson-Erkrankung von Michael J. Fox nachgezeichnet werden. Die Dokumentation wird derzeit in New York, Los Angeles und Vancouver produziert und von Oscar-Gewinner Davis Guggenheim verantwortet. In Apples Mitteilung heißt es:

The film, directed by Guggenheim, which will incorporate documentary, archival and scripted elements, will recount Fox’s extraordinary story in his own words — the improbable tale of an undersized kid from a Canadian army base who rose to the heights of stardom in 1980s Hollywood.

The account of Fox’s public life, full of nostalgic thrills and cinematic gloss, will unspool alongside his never-before-seen private journey, including the years that followed his diagnosis, at age 29, with Parkinson’s disease. Intimate and honest, and produced with unprecedented access to Fox and his family, the film will chronicle Fox’s personal and professional triumphs and travails, and will explore what happens when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease.

Als ausführende Produzentin an dem Film beteiligt sein wird auch Lauren Powell Jobs, die Witwe von Apple-Gründer Steve Jobs. Produziert wird er von Concordia Studio. Ein Titel und ein Starttermin sind aktuell noch nicht bekannt.
